About me

Associate Professor Matthew Clarke is Director and of the International and Community Development Program at Deakin University. Matthew has published five books, five edited books over 80 book chapters, refereed journal articles and conference papers. His area of research encompasses many aspects of international development, including aid effectiveness, the Millennium Development Goals, climate change, religion and development and HIV/AIDS.

Matthew undertakes regular evaluations of community development projects in the Pacific and South-East Asia for various NGOs, with a particular interest in HIV/AIDS and health-related projects. Matthew also undertakes consultancies for various international agencies and donors and regularly contributes to The Canberra Times, The Age and ABC radio and television.
