A short course for practitioners incorporating reliable evidence-based assessments
Welcome to MLQ Deakin Leadership and Organisational Change. This site is a space where you will find links to all course materials you need to complete the four modules of the course. In addition you will also note that there are other functions here that will help you communicate with your peers and facilitators in this course. This includes forums for discussions as well as links to real time eLive sessions that will be moderated by the facilitators.
Discussions for this course take place using three technologies: Screenshows, Discussion Forums and eLive interactive session (virtual classroom). These technologies are accessible via a link in the menu that appears at the left of every screen. Forums are used to discuss issues that are central to the purpose of the MLQ Deakin community such as issues that emerge from course materials, self reflection activities, activities in preparation for eLive sessions as well as general topics related to leadership assessment and development. A full list of forum topics can be viewed by clicking the forums link that appears in the menu at the left side of every page. The course comprises 4 modules:
1: Understanding Leadership: Developing and implementing organisation wide change.
• Introduction to leadership theories and frameworks and theories of organisational change and development;
• Measuring and evaluating organisational and leadership effectiveness and development;
2: Leadership assessment of individuals and best feedback practice to establish objective evidence-based developmental goals and plans with buy-in.
• Introduction to Full Range Leadership Model theory and practice
• Psychometric properties and associations with desired outcomes;
• Professionally facilitating feedback and developmental coaching
3: The assessment of ‘shared leadership in groups’ and ‘leadership culture in organisations’ related to outcome performance, coaching and development.
• ‘Leadership’ at multiple levels – individual, group and organisational culture.
• Multi-scale extension surveys for further contextualisation / applications*;
• Facilitating feedback at team and divisional management levels
4: The practice of executive coaching: a evaluation framework and case study.
• Coaching for individual executive development;
• Presentation of a framework for monitoring sound professional practice
Once you are familiar with all of the tools available on MLQ Deakin please create a profile and upload a picture of yourself. You can access the profile feature of MLQ Deakin by clicking the ‘my account’ link at the bottom of the menu that appears to the left of every screen.
Every day MLQ Deakin forwards an automatic email update to all registered MLQ Deakin users. You can stay up to date by reviewing your daily email and visiting MLQ Deakin and participating in the discussions regularly. The latest posts in the forums and blogs are visible in the menus at the right hand side of every screen. A list of the latest comments to all posts on MLQ Deakin also appears in the menu at the right of every screen.
